To Grammy’s house we go!

None

We’re going to Grammy and Gramps house this weekend for some pumpkin picking. Is it bad that I’m hopeful that something silly and crazy happens that will make this a lasting memory? Maybe I should ‘forget’ to pack any underwear or socks. Hmmm, not really funny since I’ve done that before without trying to be funny. If forgetful-ness is a gift I was given a large amount when I was born. It’s my fathers falt. He’s worse than I am…but oh how I digress. So this pumpkin patch this weekend…

Travis’ mom wanted to take Emma to this special pumpkin patch ever since Emma was born. 🙂 Apparently she took Trav to it when he was little. Aaaawwwwww. So up we go and it should be a nice relaxing time. Emma is looking forward to seeing them and their horses.

Theses pictures were taken last summer when we were in Duvall, WA.

Emma knows what she’s doing too. She works them until they’re willing to give her ice cream for dinner. It’s a gift she’s gotten from somewhere…wonder who 😉

But she’s a lover deep inside. Someone who loves snuggles and kisses. Which I believe is the way to any grandparents heart.

Keeping it Real

You know those days when you feel like there is so much that needs to be fixed or changed to just be a ‘normal’ person? Like the times when you find yourself interrupting your spouse because they just aren’t agreeing with you and you feel it’s your God given job to convince them you’re right and they’re wrong? Or just waking up in a bad mood which leads to you being impatient with your kids? Uh, yeah. Been there and then a whole lot more.

Recently I’ve been seeing a lot that I believe is bad about me. Which is coming because I’m on a healing road and all this is coming to the surface. Wonderful. Not. So anyways, I was at woman’s bible study and as they were talking I was in my own world and was writing down what God was telling me. Basically, it was that I’m a good creation. Period. That there is more good in me than any bad that I see.

Since He doesn’t make mistakes about things- and He called me a ‘Very Good Creation’ (Genesis 1) then it must be true. I am a good creation. He didn’t say that I’m mostly good. Or that I’m good on days I do things for Him. I am good all the time. That’s the truth and all the garbage I’ve been believing is…well garbage. No need to try and be good. I already am.

This might seem like I just said the same thing like 5 different ways but I am writing this for me. I sometimes need to explain it to someone else to fully understand what He’s saying.

Embrace the Camera!

I know 3 posts in a day is crazy but our computer wasn’t working yesterday and so I had to wait to do a couple posts. This one however is for Thursdays only. Check out Emily, a mom who “host a little weekly challenge that dares moms to get out from behind the lens…and in front of it, with their munchkins (or spouses, or friends…etc.) our kids will thank you for it one day…when they have oodles and oodles of pictures with you and them in it.”

I so agree with what she says about this and so…here’s our post!

Chocolate Banana Bundt

None

I have an obsession with collecting bundt pans. LOVE. THEM. I am fully satisfied imagining me 50 years from now with a kitchen with bundt pans hanging on the walls. I’d ask you over for tea/coffee and we’d partake of an amazing bundt cake.

I am also obsessed with reading/writing blogs. And if you’re like me and like both bundt cakes AND blogging CHECK THIS GIRL OUT. Well, I don’t mean in like…. a ooo lala way. But check her blog out. Man, people- grow up. 😉

She’s doing a count down until November 15 which is ‘Officially Bundt Cake Day’. Yes people. That is why I love this country. They make crazy holidays like bundt cake day. So sweet…

So anyways, this chick is literally making a new bundt cakes EVERYDAY until November 15th. Yeah. Crazy. Crazy cool! So since I had it on my ‘to do list’ I decided to make my banana bread a little more sultry and add chocolate chips to the meld. Heck, throw it into a fancy bundt pan and you feel so good about yourself that you won’t clean the rest of the day. Enjoy. Oh and recipe, not going to give it. It’s my mothers and I promised I wouldn’t give it to anyone…but I am partial to bribing.

(Do you see how the top of my cake is kinda patch-worked together? Just a little bit , but apparently I didn’t grease it enough. Does this happen to you? I get so frustrated when it comes out like that. Oh well, at least it tastes great.)

Chicken Noodle Cassarole

None

This was chosen by Amy. Such a comforting food with some of the colder winds wiping up here. This was close to a recipe that I grew up with and was planning on making anyways so it was nice, convenient and familiar. Oh yeah. So the only changes I made to the recipe was the veggies. I put in broccoli instead of green peppers. I have a mental block with green peppers- well with all peppers I guess. I just think that soy sauce has to go in the dish. No choice. Peppers are only in Asian dishes. How horrible is that?

If you have any good pepper recipes send them my way. I need to branch out of my limited scope of the veggie. 🙂

Thelast change I did was with the noodles. I just made it with the last remaining noodles I had. I made me feel spontaneous and silly. I mean who makes meals with different noodles? I usually don’t.  Travis didn’t notice or comment. But he did eat it so that was good. hehe

Thanks Amy for choosing this dish. And thank you Pioneer Woman for the cookbook. It’s yummy so far.

Baby leash backpacks

This picture is an ‘I’m sorry for not posting any pictures in the last couple posts’ picture. I know that many of you have wained and wondered whether or not to follow this blog at all if there’ll be no pictures.

But rest asured. I’m performace driven so you will get what you want! Pictures! hehehe

Don’t you just love baby backpacks that act as leashes. Emma loves it and I’m so glad for that. She’s gotten into the ‘I’ll run away from you if you call my name’ stage. It is horrible in places like malls, the zoo or Safeway. Yes. She’s done it at all of those places. Fun. Not.

I think one thing that has passed down from me to her is the love of mirrors. I’ve snuck up on her singing and kissing the mirror. Hey, I don’t kiss the mirror. I’m grown up and mature now. Now I just swirl. 🙂

It’s coming…wait for it….wait for it….

Slow but surely it’s coming along. This blog-put-it-together-yourself-thing is a lot more complicated than you’d think. At least trying to put it together by myself it is. But then again, I am known to have problems understanding computers. Thank goodness I married a tech genius. Too bad for him that I’m a picky person. 🙂
