To Grammy’s house we go!

We’re going to Grammy and Gramps house this weekend for some pumpkin picking. Is it bad that I’m hopeful that something silly and crazy happens that will make this a lasting memory? Maybe I should ‘forget’ to pack any underwear or socks. Hmmm, not really funny since I’ve done that before without trying to be funny. If forgetful-ness is a gift I was given a large amount when I was born. It’s my fathers falt. He’s worse than I am…but oh how I digress. So this pumpkin patch this weekend…

Travis’ mom wanted to take Emma to this special pumpkin patch ever since Emma was born. 🙂 Apparently she took Trav to it when he was little. Aaaawwwwww. So up we go and it should be a nice relaxing time. Emma is looking forward to seeing them and their horses.

Theses pictures were taken last summer when we were in Duvall, WA.

Emma knows what she’s doing too. She works them until they’re willing to give her ice cream for dinner. It’s a gift she’s gotten from somewhere…wonder who 😉

But she’s a lover deep inside. Someone who loves snuggles and kisses. Which I believe is the way to any grandparents heart.

Duvall, Washington

We went to Travis’ high school reunion this last weekend in Redmond, WA. It was really cool to be able to meet so many that I’ve heard about. Trav is also one of those people who keeps in contact with a lot of his old friends- the polar opposite of me. There was good friends, food and dancing. Not to mention a couple of shmoozy guys who were hoping I was Trav’s girlfriend. *eewwww

Anyways, we were able to spend a nice relaxing day with Trav’s family Sunday. Then again, any day in Duvall is relaxing and chill.  Altogether it was really nice and surprisingly humid. Enjoy the pictures! I had a hard time choosing between the 189 we took that day. I will definitely be posting more tomorrow.

The past 3 days

The past 3 days have been crazy. Being in Duvall visiting Trav’s parents, going to a square dance in a barn ( Yes! And it was SO much fun!), biking a meer18 MILES!!!!!, arriving home at 11:30pm (H.o.r.r.i.b.l.e. with a capital H) and having a friend over for dinner last night. All ok, just packed full. So, the pictures migh tbe all a bit pushed together. But here it goes:

The barn dance was crazy fun! There were white Christmas lights everywhere, AMAZING FOOD and even a professional Hall-er (lingo for professional square dance/line dance person). It was the birthday of a past friend of Travis’. She was turning 60 and it was so cool to see her dance with her black cowboy hat and boots! I hope I am that lively when I’m 60. The food was incredible. Shrimp, filled puff pastries, wrapped asparagus, as much fruit as you can eat, cake and of course brie.  Brie people! I picked out as many raspberries as I could and scarfed (and I mean scarfed) on the brie. *sigh, it was so good… This was MY kind of how-down! Anyhoo, it was fun and I got pictures of it.

This was only half one table! Do you see the huge chunks of Brie?!!!

Out of all the food- I stuffed my mouth full of as much brie as I could

Trying to be creative with the camera

I made homemade tortilla chips last night with my beef enchiladas and they were so good! Pictures of course. 😉 I didn’t put salt on them because I’m married to a healthy person. He’s trying to conform me but I like salty food too much.

Flour Tortillas Chips

The chips were great and super duper crazy easy to make. (healthy=no , yummy=yes!) Just cut triangles from corn/flour tortillas. Heat some oil in a sm/med pan and dip them in. Flip when one side is golden brown. I like mine a little too brown for most people, so picture shows that. You can make yours however you want.

Duvall

I posted a while ago about walking in Duvall and how it felt like I was in Pride and Prejudice. Well we went back to Duvall this past weekend to visit Trav’s family and actually spend time with them instead of a ‘hi and good-bye’ kinda time. We relaxed, caught up on HGTV, went for a walk, and went out to Chinese. Trav’s parents really took advantage of the time Emma was there. They spoiled her without knowing it, showed her daddy’s old ‘vintage’ toys ( yeah Trav you’re OLD!), read old books to her and video recorded her doing practically everything . It was cute. And yes, Emma capitalized on it all- she ate enough blueberries to make her face blue and ate enough bunny cookies to begin growing a tail. 🙂 Grandma and I went to Target to go fall shopping for Emma and it was great. Emma has some new fall items, but a favorite is a wonderful marshmallow snow outfit that we’re SO bringing to Poland in January.

~One highlight for me was taking her into the shower. We were short on time and all 3 of us needed cleaning before church. She overall did good. She more or less complained to me and used her words wonderfully telling me she didn’t want to be there. Boy, she was slippery. But everything went well and as Trav dried and changed her, I washed myself. (in cold water-*ugh)

For those of you who want the recipe for the pretzels, I’ll send them out asap today. *Aunt Donna, could you give me your email adress so I could send it to you? Thanks! 🙂
