Title pretty much explains the whole post. Enjoy the pictures! 🙂
It was raining but that didn’t change anything, we were all really happy to be there. 🙂
Travis and I *LOVE* having guests stay the night. We both love hosting and spoiling whoever enters our home. I saw something like this on Pinterest and had to recreate it.
Here is our overnight guest basket! I didn’t buy anything but gathered whatever I had in our home already.
I have fun ideas to add Northwest chocolates if it’s someone from out of the area. I also have dreams of adding a Portland/MAX map for ‘out of towners’ as well as a bottle of water, water flavors and snacks (homemade trail mix).
When I think about how I could spoil them I ask myself what I would want when I stay at others homes. And usually it’s something local. Whatever the city has to offer that’s unique to them. In Portland, it would be marionberry jam, smoked salmon or a flask of sand (free) from the beach they visited.
A gift where you can see the host put some thought into the gift. (something a little more than a postcard or key chain)
I Â have an amazing Aunt who lives in Austin,TX Â (hi Aunt Donna!) and when we arrive in town she has already looked into what is happening downtown/activities for however long we’re staying there. She takes us everywhere and seems so joyful to just spend time with us and show new comers around.
IF possible, I try to do some digging before a guest comes and learn their favorite meals. And then IF possible I’ll surprise them with some depending on the length of their stay.
Ask a friend and you’ll hear them say I get giddy and all bubbly to hear we have someone staying with us.
Looking forward to the guests God brings our way!
Book club tonight. 🙂 Making this:
‘Apple Nachos’. Say hello to Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’, movie, food and fun talk. (and a SONIC!!!!! I’m so excited!!!!)
I’m in the middle of making this:
Travis is so awesome  finding tons of random scraps of fabric in the oddest places and not complain!. lol
I am dreaming about possibly getting bangs like this and layers to my hair. But continue to grow it out.
I have decided to join some other bloggers to do a 30 day challenge. We are following a fun list of things to take a picture of every day for a month. It would be awesome to have you join in on the fun! Just let me know so I can follow ya. 🙂
I have a great friend who I was able to take some pictures of, for her blog. She sells fabulous scarfs and is about to open an Etsy store! I’ll let you know when she does, you’ll love it!
Not only am I learning more about taking pictures of people, but this is a free way of shamelessly promoting my handmade ‘artisan’ products…and…..
This is totally going to embarrass her too so it’s just one more fabulous reason to post this. 😉
This black and white is my favorite. GORGEOUS.
I hope you like these- I do! It was impossible to take bad pictures of her- she is too beautiful. 🙂 One of her favorite colors is yellow, so…..
I’ll only limit this post to maybe 5 pictures. Or 10.  😉
The beautiful, lightweight, flirty, girly necklace was made by me. 😉
Go check her blog out and say hi!
“This is SO feels like I’m taking my senior high school pictures.” Brianne
“Yeah, only this is way cooler! It’s like, your awesome blogging ‘Hi!! Look at me! This is my blog’ picture!!” Me
“Uh huh.” Brianne
OK, end of photo overload, you found the end of this post.
I’m ending it with another favorite.
I haven’t roasted pumpkin seeds since I was in…2nd grade I think. It was at school and I remember being amazed that something so yucky and slimy would taste good. It was a great memory….but let’s take a moment and think:
Who was the first person to scoop out the gunk from a pumpkin and think, ‘oh! I have a great idea! Let’s take the seeds, heat them up and eat them!’ A crazy person. (or a really hungry one) But we all get to benifit from this persons…out of the box thinking. Bless their crazy thinking.
Here it is. And here are the steps I followed. I made the ‘savory’ version.
Apparently they need to dry first before pouring on  the butter, seasoning and baking. I didn’t follow that perfectly, and they still turned out great.
On another note, I’m writing this while eating caramel corn. I love fall. It is the best. Amen.

I was reading a blog about how simple clothes are sometimes the most flattering and elegant. I completely agree and decided that today’s outfit should be about keeping it simple and plain.
I’m linking up for WIWW.
I’m still trying to find a place to take pictures in my house.
Shirt from my mom (danke mutti!), Pants:the GAP/Necklace a present.
I have a deep love for poofy sleeves. It allows my alter ego to pretend I’m Elizabeth Bennett. (Pride & Prejudice)
I’ve had this dream for years now. That some crafty friends would all get together and make messes doing what we all love best. Some would sew, others wouuld scrap book and others whatever they love doing.
Well, I kinda started accidentally. I had a free night with Trav gone and so I called a few girlfriends to keep me company be creative with me. This was our night:
She’s posing here. I was like, ‘OK! Â Ready?! One two….oh crap. OK let’s try that again, One, Two………….Three!’ Poor Brianne. Oh and she has a great blog here. Go say you liked the rainbow skirt she made for Emma!
Also know it was really late at night and so my pictures aren’t that nice. I’m a snob and only like natural light.
And of course I asked her to pose with the finished skirt. She is such a good sport.
Pumpkin bread, coffee, girl talk and fabric. Wonderful amazing night.  🙂
I am so excited to tell you I won a photo contest!!! I’m beyond myself! Yahoo! It’s a family portrait session (1 hr) and I also get 15 digital copies!!! Booya!! Oh I’m so happy!Â
A friend suggested I post the picture here so you can see it. The theme was Fall and to have a child in it.
What do you think!?!!
