You can’t see it in the picture above, but yes, my jacket is purple velvet.
*love*
I love my brother. He is so many things. Detail oriented, incredibly thoughtful, creature of habit, ambitious, protective and a spoiler. But one major thing I am loving more than most is our friendship. Growing up we were…not so friendly towards each other. The typical brother sister relationship with only 2 years between us.
Now, however, we love hanging out with each other.
While we’re here in town, we had a little date to a familiar coffee shop…. on probably the only sunny day Seattle will have this month. ZOKA’S.
His usual- Vanilla Latte. He makes it ‘Man’s Drink’. 🙂
So incredibly proud of him and all he’s accomplished!
Is it weird to show off your hallway? Hmmm, well this is what this post is about.
The hallway leading to our bedroom.
I LOVE that the bicycle is a two seater. The wood is drift wood we picked up on the beach from our 4th wedding anniversary to Friday Harbor in Washington.
I really love framing Emma’s art but especially when I see her drag any visitor to her pictures and proudly tell them she painted them. So, I’ll do it forever. 🙂
These old flats needed to be either thrown away or upgraded. I saw this project on Pinterest and thought I might take a crack at it. All in all a fun craft to do, that can be messy, but fast and rewarding.
I looked online at some retail stores and you can buy yourself some bling ballet flats for an easy $200!!! WHAT?!
Wonderful Old Navy. I believe these flats are at least 2 years old. Just remember to wipe down your shoes so any dirt or dust is gone before gluing.
Ahh, beautiful. Just glue on and leave in a ventilated place to dry.
In the above picture you can see the ‘diamonds’ in pools of glue. Totally OK since Modge Podge dries clear! Holla!
Hope this post makes you rethink throwing your older flats away!
I found these on Pinterest and said, oh yeah. Doing every season, and I’m really excited to see the result. The first, the best season ever, Autumn.
I used the top of a large container to make the circle for the tree.
Easy peesy right?!
Lastly, errase the circle you drew, frame and hang! They will be so proud to see their stuff on the walls!
A couple fun pictures of what Valentines Day looked like in our house.
I made a chocolate chip cake with glaze for the chocoholic’s in my house.
Oh heck, it’s Valentines Day. Eat all the chocolate you can.
We ended our day with a nice dinner and a silly random trip to Fred Meyers. Tonight we are going on a date without Emma. 🙂
I must say I am really excited about no ‘MOMMY I HAVE TO GO POTTY NOOOOOOW!’ moments and eating my meal without her wanting to eat mine because it looks better. lol, I believe once you become a parent you really learn to appreciate the small things. 🙂
Hope you have/had a chance to celebrate sometime this week. If anything, order a pizza for yourself and watch a movie!
I have lived in this beautifully rainy, green state for..gosh…7 or 8yrs. And I am embarrassed to say that I almost never go downtown. Horrible. Massive failure on my part. I visiting cities! And here I am, living right on a transit line too! Well, my cyber blogging friend, that will change. As of this month to be exact.
I will be taking more train rides to explore and have adventures. Hallelujah.
One aspect I am looking forward to is trying more of Portland’s food carts! Today I will start with
Sheish Kabob Grill :
I am a sucker for kabobs. I have a soft place for them in my heart. Reminds me of my first time visiting Frankfurt- which is the unofficial kabob capital. We had friends who took us around and I can’t remember much…but kabobs. It’s the important things in life.
This little food cart was awesome. A little pricey ($8 for my kabob) but great. We visited this cart in the middle of a photo shoot so the fact that their food was portable sold me. Healthy ingredients, good portions and an electronic punch card were some huge perks.
Travis started laughing at me with a twinkle in his eye when I ordered mine with beef instead of the traditional lamb. I knew instantly what he was insinuating.
If you know me you know I am VERY opinionated about lamb. I think as cute as those furry animals are…they taste horrible! I can pick the flavor out instantly. Well some years back were in Frankfurt and a friend, Aris, ordered a kabob for me- with lamb without telling me. Well, I took one bite and let’s just say that lots of yelling and laughing followed. *It’s fun to randomly act overly dramatic. (it’s a talent I’ve honed since childhood)
Anyhoo, you will be happy you tried this place. I give it 4 out of 5 stars 🙂
10th & Washington
My Basil babies. Every year I start my little family and watch them grow up to eventually graduate to outside homes. I love them. And in a couple months I’ll just cut up the egg carton and transplant since the carton is biodegradable and, would be at that point, falling apart anyways. Easy peesy and a great activity I do with Emma.
Right now I am putting them near a sunny window and watering them about every other to every 3 days.
