Spring Cleaning

Yes I know I changed my blog- AGAIN. But I felt like spring cleaning and updating my blog. There are new links, obviously new pictures and hopefully you like what you see. I do. 🙂
The sun is shinning and Emma is asleep. I am so excited to get out and enjoy the day- it’s not even half over! I did a butt load of cleaning, baking and cooking yesterday so I can feel the joy of doing fun things and not worry about doing things I ‘should be doing’.
I know it isn’t really spring yet and it’s actually February. But I’m in denial and I think I might buy ice cream today to make ice cream sandwiches.

If you could do whatever you wanted to do on a sunny spring morning what would it be?

Belated Valentines Day

I know Valentines Day has come and gone, but I had taken some picts of some decoration around my home.

This year, it was so wonderful! Travis and I were able to go to a fancy dinner thanks to my dad and his wife. They gave us a gift card to The Portland City Grill and it was SO nice. It’s one of my favorite places to go- for most any special thing. Birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

On another note, the weather here is so amazing! For example, right now I am sitting on our couch with the windows open and I’m in a t-shirt. Yes you read that right a t-shirt! The sun is shinning and I think Emma and I might go out for a walk to the park. Who cares that I’m having problems breathing again because of allergies. A sore throat is OK when it’s February and you’re comfortable wearing a t-shirt.

Animal Themed Baby Shower

So I am throwing a baby shower for a friend of mine and I am gradually getting excited for it. The mom-to-be is not finding out the sex so everything is as gender neutral as possible- which was a huge challenge for me! But I think it all came together. I have yet to show you the crowning achievement of the shower too- the cupcake/cake tower. SO cool, I saw this picture of a business that makes these towers of cupcakes and tops it off with a small individual cake for the mom-to-be. So I totally copied it and it turned out great! I’ll post picts at the place- I really shouldn’t put it all together- but I’m so tempted! 🙂
The card is written in Dutch, since that is where the family lives and where the baby will grow up. It says, “Thanks for coming!”
I know most of the people there so it will be easy to talk with people and the decorations, games and food are turning out great! Here are some picts of some things I’ve made for tomorrow’s party.
(Oh and yes, I did hand stamp the wrapping paper)
Wish you could come Kerstin…sad…:(

Glass Sunrise

OK, so this is one of my favorite pieces and although I could say that about most- this is really true about this necklace. It is made of rectangular shaped hand blown glass. The color reminds me of a sunrise. Yellows, oranges and obviously red are all shown here- this is a statement piece. In between each rectangle are two bright red Swarovski crystals as well as a cylinder shaped silver spacer. Closed by a silver braided toggle clasp. $35. Interested?

Sweet-Tart Necklace

This necklace is made of sterling silver and pink colored shell. The center piece reminds me of those sweet-tart candies. I also think it suits the new Spring Fashions coming up. Selling for $20. If you are interested in this piece please contact me at alexis@funkyfrosting.com

Baby shower

I am throwing a baby shower for a friend in February and I thought that since I’m so happy with the invitations, I might as well show them off on the blog. Enjoy! (I did making them)

A couple days ago I was able to get some raw and ready to use craft material. Like frames, a huge toy chest for Emma and some lettering…all stripped and beautifully sanded wood. All they’re ready to do is be ‘beautified’. And that is where I come in. Fred Meyer is having a great sale by the way, as is Michales.
