Meal Plan

Typical day:  *Snap, I realize I have 30 min to make a meal. I first panic, then conveniently forget I even know how to cook. I have to then go through my blog to past meal plans to get ideas and remember that I indeed DO know how to make awesome meals. This is the reason I post my meal plans. Not because I stupidly think you will be enthralled with them but because I have come to expect my momentary memory laps with meals. 🙂

(confession: I actually DO like looking at other peoples meal plans, but feel super dorky admitting it)

So what might be boring for you is mandatory for me.

I found myself more emotional on Memorial day than expected. I was looking through some pictures on the internet and was struck with how much men and women are sacrificing for our freedom. Tears came to my eyes. It hit me. To see what families have to go through without their husbands and wives…yeah…very moving. Happy belated Memorial Day and thank you to all who serve or have served in our military!

On a completely different and less emotional subject, I was looking forward to taking some pictures of food with our new camera. It has a food setting (which I can’t get to work) but still took pictures using the portrait setting. This is how they turned out:

My love

Doesn’t this make you want to scoop her up and not let anything bad touch her?! *sigh I am now going to give you a list of the ‘lunch items’ I am making for Travis’ lunch meals. I am stretching it kinda but making desserts is always more fun.

Cranberry Cinnamon Rolls- Check

3 Pumpkin Breads (to freeze)

Caramel Corn- one batch done, one more to make

Cappuccino Brownies

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Peach Cobbler- be looking for this incredible recipe! (only 3 items!)

Blueberry Muffins

Almond Biscotti

Berry filled Empanadas/ coated in cinnamon sugar

All of these have been in my ‘to do list’ and I am making them all now while I have the energy and freeze most of them. This way when I’m feeling lazy (and I do more often than I should in the winter months) I’ll just pop these suckers out of the freezer. Want to make them with me?

Boring-meal plan

Is this getting boring for any of you? It certainly is for me. Writing cute little adventures is sure more fun than writing our meal plan. None the less I have to do it because if I don’t, come 5 o’clock I will be either asking Travis to go out to eat or I’ll be freaking out because ‘We have no food!’. OK, here it is people. Again, I don’t expect you to read this. 🙂

So, here is a picture of Travis and I this last weekend. It’s in my dad’s house. There I feel better. I mean….what is a blog post without a picture?!!
