Carrots and Green beans

I am not one of those moms that must give their baby bottled water or one that sanitizes everything in sight. I do however believe in trying my best in feeding my little girl a healthy assortment of foods. Emma is about 11 months old and eats all kinds of foods. She’s in the middle of the transition stage and still eats mushed food ( hurrah for prunes!) as well as solid foods like cheerios. For about 4 months I have been making my own baby food. Which only means pureed carrots and green beans. This picture is an example of my carrots. It’s been nice that I’ve been getting organic veggies and have been able to make them for her. After they’re mushed I freeze them into the cubes in ice trays. For a typical feeding, I take 2 cubes and mix it with baby cereal. After she scarfs this she gets some pieces of bananas, apple or cheerios.

I am so proud of her and can’t believe she is so old!

Spring Cards

I made these in a few minutes. March is coming up and there are so many birthdays within the first week, I thought I might as well start early. The flower is a mix of two different inks and really says spring to me. I love them. They look pretty girly here, but they definitly look more ‘organic’ in person. Not so florescent.
I don’t know if others have this same problem, but I have so many ‘cutsie’ things I try to take picts of to post and they end up as bad pictures I delete then get frustrated about. I’m about to go out with Emma and meet up with a friend. Have a happy Friday! Woot!

Spring Cleaning

Yes I know I changed my blog- AGAIN. But I felt like spring cleaning and updating my blog. There are new links, obviously new pictures and hopefully you like what you see. I do. 🙂
The sun is shinning and Emma is asleep. I am so excited to get out and enjoy the day- it’s not even half over! I did a butt load of cleaning, baking and cooking yesterday so I can feel the joy of doing fun things and not worry about doing things I ‘should be doing’.
I know it isn’t really spring yet and it’s actually February. But I’m in denial and I think I might buy ice cream today to make ice cream sandwiches.

If you could do whatever you wanted to do on a sunny spring morning what would it be?

Belated Valentines Day

I know Valentines Day has come and gone, but I had taken some picts of some decoration around my home.

This year, it was so wonderful! Travis and I were able to go to a fancy dinner thanks to my dad and his wife. They gave us a gift card to The Portland City Grill and it was SO nice. It’s one of my favorite places to go- for most any special thing. Birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

On another note, the weather here is so amazing! For example, right now I am sitting on our couch with the windows open and I’m in a t-shirt. Yes you read that right a t-shirt! The sun is shinning and I think Emma and I might go out for a walk to the park. Who cares that I’m having problems breathing again because of allergies. A sore throat is OK when it’s February and you’re comfortable wearing a t-shirt.

Animal Themed Baby Shower

So I am throwing a baby shower for a friend of mine and I am gradually getting excited for it. The mom-to-be is not finding out the sex so everything is as gender neutral as possible- which was a huge challenge for me! But I think it all came together. I have yet to show you the crowning achievement of the shower too- the cupcake/cake tower. SO cool, I saw this picture of a business that makes these towers of cupcakes and tops it off with a small individual cake for the mom-to-be. So I totally copied it and it turned out great! I’ll post picts at the place- I really shouldn’t put it all together- but I’m so tempted! 🙂
The card is written in Dutch, since that is where the family lives and where the baby will grow up. It says, “Thanks for coming!”
I know most of the people there so it will be easy to talk with people and the decorations, games and food are turning out great! Here are some picts of some things I’ve made for tomorrow’s party.
(Oh and yes, I did hand stamp the wrapping paper)
Wish you could come Kerstin…sad…:(
