I am sitting on my couch while my house is asleep and it’s awesome. I feel like I get this little me time that’s special. Emma is asleep and Travis needs to get up at 4:30 a.m. so he’s already in bed. The house is quiet, laundry is running and I have a book, that I borrowed from my mom, that I’ll read when I’m done with this. I talked with a friend today who is living in South Africa and it was great. She and I are good friends and the distance between us is hard. Blessings Kerstin!
Question: Does anyone know of some good simple sewing patterns? I am beginning to sew and have really caught the bug. I have made some items that turned out really well and I’m excited to learn more. Thanks!

So tonight we are having our small group Christmas party and I’m excited! I was/am in charge of the desserts and they are turning out great. Our house is trimmed and our tree is great. It’s a little big, but better big than small. Emma though has a cough and I’m praying for it to go away. Other than that…nothing new in our lives. Well, Trav started his new job two days ago and I think it will turn out great. He hasn’t talked much about it but that is usually a good sign- no news is good news.
Right now, I’m sitting on our couch wishing I was with our European friends…sigh. I miss you:

I am one of those people who begin listening to “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas” in August. Sick I know. I am also a person who dreams of extra hot non-fat gingerbread lattes. Yum…I anticipate the holiday season and all it’s crystaly charm that comes with it. I always pray for a white Christmas and instead of giving them to me- He’s sending me to it. (Poland) Through all this, Christmas is here and for some reason it doesn’t ‘feel’ like the holiday season. I feel like I got ‘jipped‘. It doesn’t help that it as sunny yesterday and that it’s not that cold either. It might help if I take out all the decorations and make our home festive.
We’re having a Christmas party at our house this Sunday and I’m really excited. Good friends, good food and great Christmas carols. 🙂 Oh, did I mention our amazing tree this year? I’ll have to be sure to post some pictures.
